Gastric Ulcer Symptoms

Gastric ulcers are caused by an discrepancy between stomach acid and the enzyme pepsin. This imbalance in the stomach can lead to inflammation. This inflammation can be increased my medications such as asp iron or ibuprofen.

Gastric ulcer symptoms can range from  unpleasant to moderately painful. The most common symptom is abdominal pain which can wake you up at night or occur a few hours after you eat. Two other gastric ulcer symptoms are nausea and abdominal indigestion.  Other symptoms include loss of appetite and weight loss.

Many gastric ulcers cause internal bleeding. Be sure to check for blood in your stool or in your vomit if you experience vomiting episodes. If you have any of these symptoms please make sure to check with your doctor. Only a doctor can diagnosis you with a gastric ulcer and prescribe the proper treatment plan.
